Awesome-ness: Ace stayed busy at work, preparing for his next awesome promotion, I suppose!
Devon walked in the room and caught Chase playing with some dumb doll that Bethany had given him.
"You should've seen the look on your face!" Devon laughed. "And when did you start playing with dolls!"
"I wasn't playing with dolls!" Chase protested. "Look, Devon! You're supposed to knock first before coming in!" he argued, changing the subject. "That's the rules! Remember!"
Holly was at home chatting with Bethany when she got a phone call. Hurrying to the other side of the room, she lowered her voice. "Why, yes. I would love to come over," she said.
Bethany glanced up in surprise. "Who was that, Mom?" she asked when her mom started looking extremely guilty.
"Nothing, dear. I'm just going to go over to a friend's house." Holly attempted to smooth her hair down, fussing with the necktie of her dress.
Bethany shrugged as her Mom grabbed her purse and hurried out the house.
"Thank you for inviting me over," Holly said when she'd stepped inside Christopher's house. "You have a lovely home," she said.
Christopher nodded. "Thank you. I've always enjoyed puttering around the garden."
It had been so long since someone had given her a bouquet of roses...
Christopher began, "When you gets to be our age, you know that sometimes life doesn't give you all the time in the world for the wooing."
Holly smiled wistfully as he continued, "So, I've learned that it's best to go right on ahead and say how you feel."
He stepped up close to her and framed her face with his hands. "Holly Black, I am quite smitten with you."
For a moment, Holly worried about what would be right and proper to do - but then, she simply decided to live in the moment. And at the moment, she was feeling quite amorous...
Besides, Christopher was right - who knew what might happen tomorrow?
