Jesse: Week Three, Day Five

WEEK THREE
Tattoo:  Blazing Black Ace on left shoulder
DAY FIVE
Hot-headed:  Lost his cool with the nosy Trick or Treater...

Jesse hurriedly bundled up for the blasted blizzard.  He'd promised to take Ace to the Winter Festival, but first he had an errand to run for Red.  She'd dropped off a package for him to take to City Hall.  Despite how easy it would've made life to just take Ace with him, he didn't want to involve his kid in that part of his life.

“I'll be back soon, bud.” he promised as he put on his gloves.

Rubbing his hands together briskly, he hurried through the snow & dropped off the anonymous package that Red had given him. Some people might call it a bribe.  She preferred to think of it as a gift.

Done, Jesse thought as he hurried home for Ace.

"Come on, bud," Jesse said as he swept Ace up into his arms.  "Light's a wasting. We gotta get over there, now!"

When they reached the park, it looked like a winter wonderland at night. “Look at the lights, bud!” Jesse said, glancing around.

“Tree! Tree!” Ace said excitedly pointing at the Christmas tree.

“I know bud, we need to wait though,” Jesse said. Where was Anne. She said she'd meet them here.

Finally Anne showed up. “Sorry I was running late, there was an emergency at work and I needed to stay. Oh, look at you, big boy! You're growing up so fast!” Anne cooed at Ace.

Jesse beamed proudly.  “I know! He's growing up fast! He's going to be in school before too long!”

“Time flies,” Anne said softly, reaching for his hand.

Jesse smiled.  It sure did.  If someone had told him when he first moved here that he'd be in a relationship with someone other than Zelda, he never would've believe them. And now he was so happy with Anne.  He squeezed her hand. “Come on, let's go make some memories then!”

Everyone wanted to try a little bit of everything.  They checked out the Christmas tree and presents, they made snow angels, went in the photo tent & finally they wound up working on a snowman together.

Jesse glanced down to check on Ace.  “I think Ace has been in the cold long enough. I should take him home,” Jesse said reluctantly.

“My place is right around the corner. Let's go over there and get warmed up first,” Anne suggested.

Anne's place was a cute little bungalow by the seaside.  It was cute, adorable and totally Anne!

Inside, Jesse gave Ace a toy to play with so that he could spend a little one on one time with Anne.  Now it was time for a little one-on-one time with Anne! he thought as he pulled her into his arms.

"You know, we've been seeing each other steady for awhile," Jesse said as he lifted his head from the kiss.  "Maybe we should make it official or something, be boyfriend and girlfriend."  He was a little nervous suggesting it, but had been relieved when Anne had agreed, pulling him down for another kiss.

Wait, the present!  “Oh yeah, I got you something. I wanted to give it to you early,” he said, handing her a Christmas present. “I saw them and I thought of you.” They were just these cheap, little orchids, but  her face lit up with pleasure.

“Oh thank you, Jesse!” she cried out, hugging him.

A short time later and Jesse left, frustrated.  He wasn't mad at Anne or anything.  They had agreed early on (actually Anne had decided and Jesse had followed along) that there shouldn't be any overnight visits to keep from giving Ace the wrong impression.  It was killing Jesse not to take that next step in the relationship...

So back at home, when he walked up the driveway and saw someone looking in his windows, he'd flipped.

“Hey! This isn't Feast Day! Do your trick or treating somewhere else!” he yelled. The person had looked alarmed to have been caught.

Freak, he mumbled under his breath as he headed inside.

    1. Hehe.. the Alien cracked me up. I think that same one has come back visiting throughout the years. I saw one with a cane limping around the house. Jesse must've made *quite* an impression!
